Name:Lothíriel of Dol Amroth
Birthdate:Jan 11
Lothíriel of Dol Amroth is a young woman of slightly above average height, dark hair and clear grey eyes. Clever and remarkably competent, her eloquent speech gives her away as highly educated. She speaks Westron and reads Sindarin in the manner of the princes of Gondor. Most particularly, she is well versed in mathematics, accounting and administration, and what is more, enjoys it. From her easy, elegant movement, and her open and confident posture, one may glean that she has been raised nobly and to deal well with people. Besides this, there is very little about her that would mark her as anything but an average human of her age and condition. She dresses well - in well-tailored, practical garments of good quality - but not lavishly. Those who are both very perceptive and well acquainted with elves may notice something about her demeanor that suggests that, though she is human, there might be something elvish about her (they would be right).

Indeed, Lothiriel is the youngest daughter of Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth, latest in a noble line said to be descended from a silvan elf, Mithrellas, though people in general give little credence to such rumors, elves being much scarcer these days. There is not much about Lothíriel that historians would see fit to record, as hers is a quieter strength, one that works in the background of stories of warriors and kings. After all, that is the sort of tale that will be told about her times, if there is anyone left to tell stories. War is looming, has been looming, for years. Dol Amroth has been lucky. Theirs is a princedom with its centre on an important port city and ample fields to sustain it, but they feel the threat of the war and the danger of interrupted trade, of an attack, of enemy ships hitting them first, and harder. Worse still, there is the unimaginable, the question of an attack hitting Minas Tirith directly, and her father, her dear brothers, and their men being called to aid the capital. And should that happen, who would be left to rule in his stead, to make sure that the fields don't lay fallow, and the ships still sail? Lately, Lothíriel has been preparing herself for the idea that this may soon be her role.

…Which is exactly what Lothíriel goes on to do, though that is still in her future. And after the war is won, she may find that she does indeed warrant a mention in the books, if, disappointingly, only as wife of Éomer, new king of Rohan.

Lothíriel is a minor character, and canon almost by technicality. She is mentioned only once, and never in the main body of the stories. Of her, we only that she is the daughter of Imrahil and wife of Éomer. Anything else that I have written about her specifically is only derived from canon, and built around what is known of her family, her people and her time.
